			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hey there everyone&#8230;there seems to be so much confusion regarding the consumption of eggs and cholesterol in the body. My husband, Scott and I just LOVE to eat eggs. I have at least one or two whole eggs a day. Scott has much more than that! So are we jeopardizing our health over our love of eggs!?</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve done some research on my own and this is what I&#8217;ve found:</p>
<h3>What is Cholesterol Anyway??</h3>
<p> <strong>Cholesterol is a complex fatty substance found in every living cell</strong>. We cannot live without it. It provides the building blocks from which the body makes its own supply of sex and adrenal hormones. Cholesterol can also be converted to vitamin D in our body and used for the calcification of bones and teeth.<br />
<span id="more-277"></span><br />
Our body is capable of making its own supply of cholesterol. In fact, most of the cholesterol found in our body is made there; <strong>only part of it comes from the food we eat</strong>. The liver and intestines are the primary sites where it is manufactured. Overproduction of cholesterol may be the most important factor contributing to arteriosclerosis, a form of hardening of the arteries. </p>
<p>Numerous dietary studies have been undertaken to determine the effect of cholesterol intake on the level in the body:</p>
<p>Basically, the studies reveal that dietary intake of eggs did not increase serum cholesterol levels in any of the research participants, except for those that were already obese and bedridden. </p>
<p>A cardiologist in New York concludes that: <em>&#8220;95 percent of all heart trouble is associated with high serum triglycerides and attributes this to the staggering increase in sugar consumption&#8211;up from 7 pounds per person in 1840 to over 100 pounds today.&#8221;</em>  He has also been able to <strong>&#8220;lower the serum cholesterol markedly in 63 percent of his patients with a diet high in meat, milk, and eggs.&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>Other research performed at Kansas State University concluded that <em>&#8220;Even though a good amount of cholesterol is consumed when an egg is eaten, much of the cholesterol becomes &#8216;unavailable for absorption&#8217; in the presence of the phospholipid (lecithin), Koo said.&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>&#8220;This may be a reason why so many studies found no association between egg intake and blood cholesterol,&#8221; he said</em>. <em>The phospholipid, or lecithin, found in egg markedly inhibits the cholesterol absorption. The inhibition is not 100 percent, he said. Some cholesterol is absorbed but the amount is <strong>significantly reduced</strong> in the presence of this phospholipid.</p>
<p>Koo says <strong>people with normal cholesterol levels and no family history of cardiovascular disease should not worry about eating one to two eggs a day</strong>. There&#8217;s more overall nutritional benefit than harm to be gained from eating &#8220;nutrient-dense&#8221; eggs &#8212; in moderation, he said.</em></p>
<p>So there you have it! If you have no history of heart disease and your cholesterol levels are in the normal range, you should be able to enjoy a couple of eggs/day, if you choose to. They are packed with a ton of nutrition and are a great boost to start your day! </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today is a very special day for me.  I&#8217;m the proud father of my nearly 7 year old son Shayne, and my beautiful 5 year old daughter Noelle.  My family means everything to me.  I experienced a wonderful moment while filming one of the workouts from <strong><a href="http://www.thefitbastard.com">The Fit Bastard</a></strong> Express program recently.  It made me realize the positive influence that I&#8217;m having on my children.  Here&#8217;s the video of the 10 minute express workout that I did.  Take note of 3 separate times where my daughter models my behavior.</p>
<h3>Shoulder &#038; Ab Workout</h3>

<p>The first time that my daughter surprises me and comes into the picture she sees me doing a shoulder press on the stability ball.  So she decides to grab a smaller stability ball and 5 pound dumbbells and do a shoulder press herself.</p>
<p>The next time she comes into the picture she <span id="more-244"></span>brings me some water in one of her toy tea cups.  She obviously knows the value of water.  She didn&#8217;t bring me a pop or a beer.  She brought me what we all drink in our house&#8230; refreshing water.</p>
<p>The last time that Noelle pops into the picture she begins to do burpees.  Now I wasn&#8217;t even doing burpees, but she has seen me do it before.  She even asks me if I&#8217;m going to do them in the workout.  Maybe I should hire her as my trainer <img src='http://unstoppablefatloss.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Looking at these pictures of my beautiful, healthy, energetic children, it makes me aware that I owe them the gift of providing them with the healthiest father that I could possibly be.  I would do anything for these two miracles that I helped create.</p>
<p>That includes waking up early to do cardio, pushing my self just beyond my limits, stepping outside my comfort zone and experiencing my best workouts ever, eating healthy natural foods on a consistent basis, and participating in fun activities together as a family.</p>

<p>They are a major driving force for me, there&#8217;s no doubt about that.  And seeing the impact that I&#8217;m having on them and knowing that they will be role models for other children, really brings a smile to my face.</p>
<p>Living in optimal health is a great gift for my children, and besides a loving and healthy family, the next best gift that I could receive came from myself&#8230;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The best thing about reaching our goal of achieving <strong>6 pack abs</strong> is that Angie and I get to move on to new exciting challenges to improve the appearance of our physique.  Angie&#8217;s next challenge is to develop a <strong>firm butt and tighten up her thighs</strong>.  My next challenge is to <strong>put on some muscle</strong> in 28 days.  </p>
<p>It was incredibly rewarding to hear how Angie and I inspired you by sharing our journey to 6 pack abs.  This time we would love you to be a participant in the journey rather than simply observing our success.</p>
<p>To spark some motivation in you and help you TAKE ACTION, we have created 2 challenges.  For the women, it&#8217;s the <strong>6 Week Firm Butt Challenge</strong>.  For the men it&#8217;s the <strong>28 day Muscle Explosion Challenge</strong>.  Here&#8217;s some details&#8230;<span id="more-226"></span></p>
<h3>Firm Butt Challenge</h3>
<p>You&#8217;ve probably heard that there is no such thing as <strong>spot reducing</strong>, and to a degree that is certainly true.  But when you have the right workout program you can dramatically improve one specific area of your body. You will get more benefit out of intense leg training when it comes to <strong>burning belly fat</strong>, than you will any ab exercise. <h3>Partial Lunge With Rear Foot Elevated</h3>

<h3>How To Perform This Variation Of The Lunge</h3>
<li>Stand approximately 3 to 4 feet in front of a step or platform which about 6 inches high with your back facing the step.</li>
<p><span id="more-225"></span></p>
<li>Bring one foot back with your toes on the step.  This should be a bit of a stretch.  Lower your back knee straight down so it nearly touches the floor.  DO NOT lunge forward.  This is an up and down movement.</li>
<li>Your front leg should bend at a 90 degree angle and your knee should not go out beyond your toes.</li>
<li>Keep your upper body fairly straight.  DO NOT lean forward too much.</li>
<li>Perform 8 to 12 repetitions then switch legs.</li>

<h3>Stability Ball Kneel</h3>

<h3>How To Perform The Movement</h3>
<p><span id="more-224"></span></p>
<li>For beginners you will want to have a table or chair in front of you to hold on to while you get the hang of the movement and gain your balance.</li>
<li>Once you are comfortable try letting go and keep your hands close to the chair so you can grab on if you lose your balance.</li>
<li>When you start to lose your balance try to avoid grabbing on to the chair right away.  Use your opposing muscles to bring you back to the center point.</li>
<h3>Why This Exercise Is So Effective At Correcting Muscle Imbalances&#8230;</h3>
<p>Lets say that you find yourself constantly drifting to right side.  This is a good indicator that your right hip flexor muscles and your left inner thigh muscles are stronger than the opposing muscles.  </p>
<p>What happens is your opposing muscles (the left hip flexor and right inner thigh muscles have to work harder to bring you back to the center point.  The more often you are on the ball, the more work those weaker muscles are going to receive and eventually will equal out to the same strength as the stronger muscles.</p>
<p>Now lets say you find yourself drifting more to the front, which is most common.  This is a good indicator that your quadriceps are stronger than your hamstrings because they are dominating the movement.  Your hamstrings then have to work harder to pull yourself back to the starting point.</p>

<h3>How This Healthy Meal Is Prepared</h3>

<li>In a saucer mix 2 tablespoons of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil with thyme, black pepper, and rosemary.</li>
<li>Spread the mix on the fish (salmon or rainbow trout)</li>
<li>Sprinkle Parmesan cheese</li>
<li>Sprinkle crushed cereal of choice (we use Special K, Life, and Shredded Wheat)</li>
<li>Bake for 25 minutes at 375 degrees</li>
