I really appreciate this feedback Mark. During the past 12 years as a personal fitness trainer I'd say the comment I've heard the most is, "Just tell me what to do and what to eat."

That's a lot easier done when you are working one on one with an individual, understand their unique needs and lifestyle. It's difficult to make a broad plan that is going to work for everyone.

Making the statement that "People don't want to be told what to eat" was a general statement, but obviously that's what some people are looking for. The Unstoppable Fat Loss program comes with a 30 day meal plan where you are told exactly what to eat. I like to refer to it more as a guide even though it's a full out plan. Even I don't follow it to a 'T'.

The key with a naturally thin lifestyle is being aware of the foods that are best for you, your overall health, and fat loss. Then it's a matter of listening to your body's signals and eating to the point of satisfaction rather than stuffing yourself. It's mindful eating.

This is one of the reasons that I like showing Unstoppable Fat Loss members exactly what we eat in our home and how we eat. They see that we aren't measuring calories and obsessing over the minor details.

Calories are incredibly important. If you are not in a caloric deficit you will not lose weight no matter how healthy you are eating. I really have no idea how many calories I consume in a day. I use a constant feedback loop. I eat to the point of satisfaction and at the end of the week if the appearance of my physique hasn't changed in a positive way I know that I have to stop eating a little sooner in my 'level of satisfaction.' I also pay attention to my overall energy levels. That's great feedback for me. If I'm extremely low on energy I've got to take a look at the types of food that I'm consuming and choose more nutrient rich foods that are packed with vitamins and minerals.

In the past I have counted calories and paid attention to all the fine details. I believe that's why it's easier for me to judge and 'guess' that I'm in the right calorie range.

Although I've been living a naturally thin lifestyle for the past two years I still believe that monitoring your calories for two weeks is a very beneficial practice. The resource that I recommend the most when it comes to the "Nutrition Fine Details" is Tom Venuto's Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle http://www.BurnOffTheFat.com

What I have found with providing people with an exact meal plan is that they don't actually stick with it even though it's what they requested and 'thought' it's what they needed to help them... and that's the issue... sticking to what you are following.

Based on your comments I'm going to make the nutrition component of the Unstoppable Fat Loss System even more "Idiot Guide" in nature.

The great news is that planning and shopping when it comes to healthy eating is pretty darn simple. You've got your staple products and there are multiple ways to make them.

I appreciate your comments and feedback. Thanks a million!

hi Scott,
Nutrition is the one area i struggle with!! Motivation in the gym, no problem! killer fat burning work outs no-problem. you/marna mention in the interview that "people dont want to be told what to eat", i will have to disagree (for me) i am a single guy, cant cook always had someone else to do it for me!! i work long hours, dont understand food and nutrition. i have been picking up lots of useful info on here and other sites... 5-6 meals, always eat breakfast, more fruit n veg, only whole foods, minimal carbs (late in the day), small portions, incorporate a cheat day (or 2), cut out all refind sugars, no junk food! Things are progressing, but i know things could go quicker with the correct nutrtion. What i am seeking/looking for is to be told what to buy at the shops, how much to buy, how to prepare healthy (tasty) foods, cooking batches of foods for the week ect....i usually find myself eating raw veg and a can of tuna ( not very tasty ) after a long day at work n gym! i am look for an idiots guide what to buy,prepare,fequency,supplements... the whole package! any recommedations ?? thanks, keep up the good work! mark (UK)
