Oh man!!! You just made my day!!!

You can't imagine how magnificent this post was for me. I'm having a very harsh time, beating myself up, hating all my guts, for being so "weak" and undisciplined. But after your words and also a podcast about perfectionism I just listened to, my motivation is a bit higher that I will star keeping a journal on my little daily successes right away. PERFECTIONISM IS KILLING ME. I want to be fair and realistic.

Thanks so much Scott :)

I totally agree!!! We always look at what we do wrong and never the right ones - I am persoanally struggling with my fat/weight loss, and this sure is a push of encouragement - slowly but surely I'll rach my goal.

Thanks a million Scott and all you guys!!!

Cheers

I did all 3 sets of the bodyweight exercises each day and 30 minutes of something gun on the other days. I fasted twice instead of once, and it was hard, but made it. I haven't lost too much weight, and I feel better than I have in awhile. My biggest victory this week--I refuse to be discouraged!

Congratulations for all those achievements!
What I accomplished las week was:

A reduction in my waist and arm measurements.
I exercised everyday for the second week in a row.
I succumbed to some temptations but did not fall off the wagon like I used to, I'm still really motivated.
I feel I have become a great influence on my little sister, she likes to workout with me at home and is looking forward to spring when she can go running outside with me (it's still too cold for her).

I hope to have more great victories for next week.
Thanks for all the support and advice.

I just wanted to say Great Job to everyone who had victories last week!

My victories were a 3.4 lb weight loss last week, and I was also able to say no to a happy hour margarita with friends, sticking with water instead.
Looking forward to another great week!

It's like climbing a long staircase.
You go up one step at a time.
You don't try to jump to the top in one long leap.

Or it's like a fight.
You don't think about winning the fight, you think about winning this round.
Then you don't think about winning this round, just dominating this exchange.
And then, not dominating the exchange, but on landing THIS punch.

You keep punching, you keep going.
Very often it isn't one big knock-out punch that wins the fight, but the accumulation of round after round of effective punches.

Well, you get the idea.

Thank you for this! It came at a perfect time for me, too! I had a rough day yesterday, but learned from it....and I have done great all week, and got back on track today, too! I don't have to toss all the victories out when I lose 1 battle!
You and Angie are great inspirations!

Scott,
It is so true about forgetting to celebrate. I realized that I have not celebrated my own victories enough either. I was focusing on the doctor telling me I had gained weight in the last year at my annual checkup. Then I overtrained and was out of the gym for a few days.

I am overjoyed by the blood work which shows that I can dump the cholesterol medication as well s the aspirin and the blood pressure that I dropped last year. She even wrote "prefect!" on the results and said I am clear to run a marathon.

What I am proud of is my focus on healthy eating all week, bypassing the fresh cookies I found when I got home on Thursday.

I am thrilled by my 4 lb weight loss on Saturday morning.

I am excited about my long run Saturday-9 miles in 70 minutes-I am on track to complete my October Marathon. I may even add a half in May.

My tangible reward was to FINALLY buy myself a pair of spin shoes. I have been withholding them with various delays and excuses but I just went out and got them.

Seize the moment!

Have a great week.
